Find out today how we can help your organization.
Data Protection Officer as a Service
Our outsourcing service provides you with a highly experienced Data Protection Officer who works on-site or remotely as a full member of your team.
You benefit from an expert, hands-on data protection professional who takes on the responsibilities of the DPO in a highly cost-effective manner. The DPO is supported by shared best practices and model documentation developed through our collaboration with over 1,000 organizations.
Why you should use a DPO Centre FG
Although a DPO does not have to be a full-time position, it does require specialist expertise in the field of data protection. An experienced and knowledgeable external DPO is a cost-effective solution for improving information security and complying with legislation, such as the GDPR. Failure to protect personal data can not only result in significant financial fines from supervisory authorities (such as the AP), but can also damage your organisation’s reputation. By following proven methods, an external DPO will help protect the personal data that your organisation processes about your customers, suppliers and employees and will advise you on this. If necessary, the DPO will cooperate / coordinate with supervisory authorities on your behalf.
How does the service work?
Unlike other providers to which you can outsource your DPO, our DPOs work with you, whether in your office or remotely, as an integral member of your team. They immerse themselves in your corporate culture and take a proactive rather than reactive approach to your needs.
Account Management
Your FG activities are monitored and managed by DPO Centre’s experienced project implementation team, so they do not take up time or distract the attention of your management team.
Customer Services
The quality of our service is also monitored by our head of customer service, who exercises the necessary oversight to ensure that we always provide an appropriate, structured, coordinated and quality-oriented service.
This is one of the most important features of outsourcing and removes the overhead, risk and distractions that your internal staff would otherwise experience, allowing them to focus their efforts on further developing your organization.
Plan of approach
Our DPOs follow a proven set of activities from an Action Plan, which has been developed through experience and collaboration with a range of clients. Each element of the plan is linked to the 7 Principles of the GDPR , meaning we can clearly demonstrate and regularly report on where the level of compliance is improving and how the risk is evolving and decreasing over time.
Model Documentation
When you partner with DPO Centre, you will have access to our constantly developing and improving central pool of processes and proven model documentation. This means that your assigned DPO will use proven documentation and only spend the time needed to adapt it to your requirements – rather than having to research and create it from scratch.
Primary and secondary FGs
When providing an external DPO, DPO Centre will assign both a primary and a secondary DPO. Both will be involved in your initial onboarding process, so that two DPOs become familiar with your organisation, stakeholders and data processing operations.
Your primary FG will assume responsibility for the role within the agreed work commitment, while the secondary FG will remain available at no additional cost to step in during a period of absence or to replace your primary FG (should this ever be required). This ensures a seamless service and avoids the distraction, cost and inconvenience of having to recruit a replacement FG.
Expert Advice Line
The third level of our “ongoing support framework” is our Advice Line service. The Advice Line provides you with access to our wider team of Data Protection Officers on the remaining days of the month when your appointed Data Protection Officer is not specifically assigned to you at that time or is unavailable, providing you with a cost-effective, full, monthly service.
The advice line provides you with direct answers to your questions or in the event of unexpected incidents. As soon as specific knowledge about your organization or processing activities is required, these will be forwarded to your DPOs for a more detailed or personal answer. The most important thing, however, is that the problem must now be solved by us, not by you.
Large data protection team
Your FG is part of a team of permanently appointed FGs, one of the largest FG teams in existence, so that they can consult with and draw knowledge from their colleagues. In this way, all interpretations of the law and decisions taken are derived from a much broader and more multi-faceted knowledge base.
Being part of a larger team also means that additional resources and specific expertise can be deployed when needed.
Knowledge and Expertise
DPO Centre has provided data protection services to over 1,000 clients across a wide range of industries. This gives our team a much broader range of knowledge than a smaller, less experienced team could acquire and maintain.
Benefits of our outsourced data protection services
Due to the depth of knowledge and experience within our team , The DPO Centre’s services will deliver far greater value to your organisation than an independent contractor or smaller data protection team. We can demonstrate experience across sectors and organisations, and our consultants have worked with a range of platforms, tools, vendors and software, enabling us to provide cost-effective, informed guidance and appropriate solutions.
